Once you get there, where are you going to stay?

There are few things more flexible than the pricing of accommodation. Often two identical rooms in the same hotel with the same view will be rented for two completely different prices.

How hotels arrive at those prices is beyond the understanding of mere mortals, but a few factors do come into play. 

1. How full they think they are going to be.

2. How much they think they can get away with.

You can't control the first one, but there is no harm in letting them know that you have done your homework.

Even if you choose not to book through these services, print out the quote anyway. That way when the desk clerk says "that's the going rate" ...You can show them otherwise.
